Fine instruments worked in a confined space inside the rock or stone that the creation is then presented within. That original rock creates a frame around the art – but the frame is integral to the piece. The work is conceived and executed with great skill, passion, vision and mathematical precision.
As an artist Karel feels that he is uncovering the secret of the inner stone. Part creator but also as a medium, he is giving the stone a voice and freeing its concealed character. Stone is the symbol for eternity and as a mineral, it is a tangible link to physics and the forces driving the universe.
